Join us for groundbreaking discussions on movement law, and be a part of the legal arm of liberation movements! The NLG’s 2024 #Law4ThePeople Convention will take place at the Hilton Birmingham Downtown at UAB, in Birmingham, AL on Wednesday, October 30 – Sunday, November 3, 2024! Join hundreds of legal professionals, scholars, and activists for five days of interactive CLEs, workshops, and panels by members of the oldest and most progressive public-interest bar association in the country.

This year, we are offering programming related to Palestine solidarity, environmental justice, prison litigation, economic sanctions, legal education, the unhoused crisis, and much much more! There will also be opportunities for organizing and connecting with other NLG members at regional meetings, committee meetings, and caucuses (both in-person and virtually).
This year, we are offering both in-person and virtual registration options. Please note the format of each event in the schedule is described as: In-person, Hybrid (live in-person and virtual simultaneously), or Virtual. Select events will also be livestreamed publicly. All recorded content will be shared with every registrant after the convention!

The NLG is committed to anti-racist struggle, including the increased participation of people of color in our organization. Your donation to support The United People of Color Caucus at the NLG will help build power and leadership for legal activists of color by providing travel stipends for BIPOC law students, legal workers, and recent graduates to attend the 2024 #Law4ThePeople Convention!!
Major panels (1.5 hours) and workshops (1 hour) are the main political and educational components of the NLG #Law4thePeople Convention. Organized by NLG members, chapters, regions, committees, projects, and allied organizations, these events offer legal analysis, training, and opportunities to reflect on the current state of the world from a Guild perspective. In 2024, major panels and workshops will cover topics related to Palestine solidarity work, Indigenous rights, environmental justice, legal education, the unhoused crisis, U.S. imperialism, prison litigation, and much more!
