Innovation Law Lab has developed this Know Your Rights, Responses and Resources document for immigrants and supporting communities, covering the limits of rights and the real possibility that they may be violated. The guide helps you to both know your rights and understand your options beyond those rights.

Red Cards/ Tarjetas Rojas

The Immigrant Legal Resource Center (ILRC) provides Red Cards/Tarjetas Rojas that concisely summarize immigrant rights and what can be said to authorities in the event of an interaction with law enforcement. You can order a set from the ILRC directly or bulk order from a union printing shop. The website also provides PDFs for Red Cards in 19 languages.

Portland Immigrant Rights Coalition

The Portland Immigrant Rights Coalition (PIRC) is a non-profit that emerged out of local grassroots organizing in 2005. PIRC provides various resources, working directly with immigrant communities to support them.

Washington Immigration Solidarity Network

Washington Immigration Solidarity Network (WAISN) is the largest immigrant-led coalition in Washington. They are a powerful, volunteer-driven network of immigrant and refugee-rights organizations and individuals distributed across the state that strives to protect, serve and strengthen communities across the state. They also connect those in need to a variety of resources.

Northwest Immigrant Rights Project

Northwest Immigrant Rights Project (NWIRP) promotes justice by defending and advancing the rights of immigrants through direct legal services, systemic advocacy, and community education. They focus on the most under-served segments of the immigrant population, so take a look to see if you are eligible for services.

Equity Corps of Oregon

Find a lawyer through the Equity Corps of Oregon (ECO)! ECO provides legal assistance to immigrant and refugee Oregonians who need help with immigration law, are seeking asylum, are applying for DACA, are filing for an immigration work permit, or cannot afford a lawyer or filing fees.

Detention Watch Network

People are uniting to protect immigrant family members, friends, coworkers, and neighbors by calling to shut down existing detention centers and blocking ICE proposals to build new ones as part of the Communities Not Cages campaign.

Legal Voice has been on the front lines of civil rights issues in the Northwest for almost 50 years. An intersectional feminist organization that works on issues of gender discrimination, reproductive rights, economic justice and more.
