Izak is Associate General Counsel for Access Now, where he acts as in-house counsel, advising on international operations, while facilitating the organization's compliance, policy, advocacy, and grants work. He is a licensed Attorney & Counselor at Law in the State of New York, and a Barrister & Solicitor in the Province of Ontario, with a Juris Doctor (JD) from the University of Melbourne Law School (Global Top-10 Law School), having spent a semester on exchange at McGill University. Prior to Access Now, Izak worked in commercial litigation and corporate law at a full-service law firm in Toronto, Canada.
Izak has worked on a wide array of legal matters, particularly in the areas of commercial litigation, corporate transactions, international arbitration, technology, and international human rights law.
Izak is active with a number of organizations focused on law, technology, and dispute resolution, and has been awarded the level of Associate (A.CIArb) with the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb), Member (M.AIADR) with the Asian Institute of Alternative Dispute Resolution (AIADR), Member (M.CMI) with the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), and Associate (A.RI) with the Resolution Institute (RI).
