In 2005, Rob worked as the first communications coordinator for The United People of Color Caucus (TUPOCC). He currently serves on the executive committee of the Monterey Bay Area NLG Chapter, which he helped to re-establish in 2011. Recently, he helped inaugurate a Workers Rights Legal Clinic at the Silicon Valley Independent Living Center, a disability justice and services nonprofit, where he also serves on its board. With the Boggs Center to Nurture Community Leadership, based in Detroit, he has helped organize conferences and has produced digital media.
His first encounter with Guild lawyers was decades ago, when he organized workers of color against discrimination in New York City construction unions. He founded Asian Americans for Equality, a long-standing civil rights advocacy and services group, and served on the New York State Advisory Committee to the U.S. Civil Rights Commission. His other experience includes working at an automotive plant and volunteering at a wild bird refuge. He is a JD-MBA graduate of New York University and his current practice is primarily in technology and commercial law.
