LAW STUDENTS: THE MILITARY LAW TASK FORCE WANTS YOU!
The Guild's Military Law Task Force supports resistance and dissent in the military, works for veterans' rights, opposes registration and the draft, and works against US militarism and its perpetual wars. That's a lot to do, and we need help from Guild law students.

The Task Force has changed our dues structure so that membership for law students is now free. You can go to Join - Military Law Task Force (nlgmltf.org) to join. Membership includes a subscription to our journal, On Watch and to our less formal News & Notes; an opportunity to join MLTF committees such as Gender Justice, Military Anti-Racism, Selective Service, and Readiness/Anti-Militarism committees; and a chance to help in research and writing for military law and related legal or policy materials. For more information, check out the website or contact our executive director at kathleengilberd@aol.com.

Webinar: Repression and Dissent of the Palestinian Solidarity Movement in the United States (09/25/24)

For years, lawmakers have been staging unprecedented attacks on racial and social justice advocacy, passing anti-boycott laws designed to silence those working for an equitable future.

As the NLG, we have a long history of supporting Palestinian Liberation and Resistance.

We were in solidarity with Palestine as far back to the late 1970's and 1980's. We also were one of the first organizations in the US to call the occupation Apartheid. We continue to call for Boycott, Divestments, and Sanctions (BDS) before many other large organizations. We also passed resolutions in support of Palestines' Right to Resist in 2021 and 2023.

We hosted this urgent and timely conversation for NLG supporters examining one specific thread of this repression; namely the growing protest movement in the United States against the Israeli government’s genocide in Gaza. Despite widespread governmental support in the U.S. for Israel, there is a rising wave of activists demanding an immediate ceasefire and advocating for Palestinian rights.
