Dear Acting President Maduro and the people of Venezuela,
The National Lawyers Guild expresses our deep condolences for the loss of President Chavez. We were heartened to witness his impressive election victory five months ago.
A just-released National Lawyers Guild (NLG) report finds that the 2012 presidential election which reseated Venezuela President Hugo Chávez was conducted fairly and accountably.
NLG President Azadeh Shahshahani was a part of the delegation that monitored the October voting.
On October 7, 2012, over 80 percent of the Venezuelan electorate turned out to re-elect Hugo Chávez Frias as President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
