The National Lawyers Guild is providing legal support to protesters at the 2012 Republican and Democratic national conventions in Tampa, Florida and Charlotte, North Carolina. NLG Legal Observers® will be on the ground watching for police misconduct for as long as protesters are in the streets. NLG members will also staff a 24-hour hotline, make sure arrested protesters have representation, and respond to legal emergencies as they arise.

The NLG is a non-profit organization and our members are traveling from around the country to protect the rights of protesters. If you are a lawyer, law student, or legal worker and you would like to volunteer, you can sign up at tampa.nlg.org and charlotte.nlg.org. If you can’t make it, but you care about keeping the First Amendment alive, please consider making a donation.
