NLG Passes Resolutions Supporting Prison Abolition and Normalized Relations with Cuba

At its annual Law for the People Convention held this year in Oakland, CA, NLG membership voted to pass two resolutions: one supporting the abolition of prisons, and another calling on the US Government to formally normalize relations with Cuba—both of which exemplify the Guild's mission of holding human rights over property interests.

The Anti-Racism Committee (ARC), The United People of Color Caucus (TUPOCC), and the National Immigration Project (NIP) of the National Lawyers Guild (NLG) stand in solidarity with Syrian and Iraqi refugees who seek protection in the United States, and oppose recent actions by Congress and states to block these refugees from settling here.
