The National Lawyers Guild calls for an immediate halt to the Israeli bombardment of Gaza and demands that the U.S. government immediately cease all aid to Israel. The NLG calls for further action by the U.N. Security Council, General Assembly, and Human Rights Council to protect the civilian population of Gaza, to oppose the bombardment, and to oppose any further escalation.
At the 2012 Law for the People Convention in Pasadena, the National Executive Committee (the NLG’s board of directors) voted unanimously to adopt a sexual harassment complaint policy. The policy covers a range of forms of harassment, including but not limited to unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual and/or coercive nature.
Earlier this year Vodak v. City of Chicago, a class action lawsuit resulting from false arrests at a 2003 anti-war protest, settled for $6.2 Million.

Undoubtedly the most visible part of this effort will be our teams of trained Legal Observers® (LOs), who will attend demonstrations across Tampa and Charlotte carrying notebooks and sporting bright green caps.
