Nadia Kayyali is a 3L at UC Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco. She is the Student National Vice President for the National Lawyers Guild and previously served as Co–Law School Vice President for the Bay Area.
Nadia is active in a number of campaigns. She is the Community Outreach Editor for the Hastings Race and Poverty Law Journal and does work on campus addressing structural inequality and administrative transparency. She represents the Guild’s San Francisco Bay Area Chapter on the Coalition for Safe San Francisco (CSSF), a coalition dedicated to addressing racial and religious profiling of Arab, Middle Eastern, Muslim, and South Asian communities. She also worked with CSSF as a summer clerk at American Civil Liberties Union of Northern California in the summer of 2011.
Nadia is also a judicial extern for the Honorable Edward Chen at the Northern District of California.
Along with other NLG members, Nadia is providing ongoing legal support for the Occupy movement and other demonstrations.
Before law school, she attended UC Berkeley, where she received a B.A. in Cultural Anthropology with a minor in Public Policy.
